External use of oregano oil is vast. However, I have to mention that this oil can be consumed, too. If drunk in appropriate amounts, it delivers truly remarkable effects. Since this entry is devoted to body and hair conditioning features of oregano oil, I’ll focus on that. After all, there’s nothing difficult about that.

Natural oregano oil – which is cold-pressed, produced by a well-known brand, with no additives – has many interesting features. It’s worth realizing though that it can cause irritations therefore it must be thinned with water before applying the oil in any way. This is the most important rule that has to be followed. Pure oregano oil can be mixed with water or your favourite, yet lighter, oil such as olive oil, sunflower oil or sweet almond oil. I always choose the oil that is at my home – the last time it was grapeseed oil. Moreover, nothing stands in the way to boost features of, for example, your favourite cream with oregano oil. Remember though that just a few drops are enough.

How to make your own oregano oil?

I would like to share with you my easy way for obtaining DIY oregano oil. You can prepare oregano maceration yourself. It will work more delicately than essential oil. How to get your own oregano oil? The best base would be sunflower oil. Put there leaves, stems and flowers of fresh oregano. Then, place a jar with the mixture in a pot filled with water and slowly make it boil. After a quarter of an hour take the jar out and expose it to sun rays; keep it there for 2 weeks. After that, you can strain the oil and pour it into a convenient bottle. Store your oregano mixture in a cool and dry place.

Where can you buy oregano oil?

First and foremost, look for it in pharmacies as well as shops selling eco food. These two places usually offer high quality substances which action can be taken for granted. On the other hand, you should be a little bit more cautious when buying the substances via the Internet. Although oregano oil is easy to access online, you can come across its weird blends which action is less intensive. Therefore, if the Internet is the only source you can get oregano oil from, choose the e-shops which are ranked high and which mainly sell natural food products or semi-finished goods.
