Hi!
Today, I’d like to hint you with an idea for a home-made cosmetic which you can create yourself, in many variants and very affordable. This post contains bath salt recipe, perfect for:
- at home SPA,
- a gift for your loved one.
BATH SALT is one those products that are rare guest in our bathroom. I suspect that the greatest obstacle might be lack of a bathtub, which in most houses (as in mine) was replaced with a shower. Perhaps shower is fastest and allows you to save some money, but it is during the bath when you can properly relax. Well, that and the fact you can use bath salts and that is what we are talking about here after all. 🙂
HOW DOES BATH SALT WORK?
I would love to tell you about all the great properties bath salt has. It is really worth introducing it into your skin care. No one tells you to take baths every day from now on because where would you get time for this. However, you should feel it on your own skin how home-made bath salt made with natural components work.
A warm bath with bath salt at least once a week:
- speeds up organism detoxification,
- holds properties of aromatherapy,
- is suitable for mechanical exfoliation of the epidermis,
- relaxes muscles and lessen cramps,
- stimulates blood circulation,
- lessens pain and inflammations,
- improves hydration and nourishment in the skin.
How should you use bath salt?
While we’re at it, I will tell you little something about how to use bath salt. Many of you have no idea whether bath salt foams, how much to use, should you add it to the water or rub your body with it — hence the low interest in this cosmetic. We prefer solutions we know and which use leaves no room for a doubt. At first, I didn’t know myself how to use bath salt. Today, I know it couldn’t be simpler.
- Bath salt can be added directly to the water — just 2 tablespoons for the sensitive skin prone to irritations or half a glass for the normal skin.
- Works equally well as a body scrub — then you should take a portion of bath salt and rub wet skin allowing the rest to fall into the water.
HOW TO MAKE DIY BATH SALT?
You wonder how to make bath salt at home but probably haven’t found an answer in any manual. I present you the easiest recipe of all which just cannot be messed up. No need for special accessories or inaccessible components. An important fact is that the bath salt recipe can be modified accordingly to your own desire, enriched with more interesting nourishing and moisturising ingredients, for example, favourite oils. It makes everything easier.
A simple recipe for home-made bath salt with aromatic herbs!
You’ll need:
- salt (best is Himalayan);
- baking soda;
- dried sage (anti-inflammatory);
- dried marigold (for skin problems);
- dried rosemary (for warm-up);
- essential oil, e.g. anise oil;
- liquid soap (optional).
How to make bath salt?
First, take 2-3 glasses of coarse-grained salt and place it in a bowl. You can use Himalayan salt or mix few different types. The best bath salts include, among many, pink Himalayan salt, Epsom salt (pure mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate with a form of salt grains), the Dead Sea salt or French grey sea salt. Your average kitchen salt is no good as contains too little nourishing ingredients than, e.g. Himalayan salt, etc. Add 1/3 of a glass of baking soda, few tablespoons of dried herbs in any proportions, two tablespoons of liquid soap and few drops of essential oil of your choice. Ready-mix place in a clean and dry container (I love to keep it in the jar as it looks amazing).
What should you use to tint the bath salt?
A common question concerns an approach to make tinted bath salt. It is possible, though, the colour has no impact on the bath salt action. Tinted bath salt just looks nice, especially when placed in a transparent jar and packaged as a present. What should you use to tint your bath salt? The easiest way involves food colourant in a chosen colour. Food colourant is harmless and can ensure intense colour. Obviously, you can try more natural methods such as beetroot juice, curcuma, coffee essence, cinnamon or parsley juice. Bath salt will gain subtle gold colour when you add honey, which additionally will ensure skin with some extra hydration.
Try it yourself! 🙂
